St Nicholas' Youth Group Presents: Victoria - The Visit
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited Arundel in 1846. The Queen was 27 years old and had been married to Prince Albert Albert for 6 years. The visit was a huge occasion for Arundel and subsequent to a spectacular welcome, the royal party were entertained with fireworks, music and other entertainment.
The visit is well documented, and St Nicholas Church Youth Group members have visited key sites, constructed a range of props, and immersed themselves in some physical theatre to create a story of the visit that they want to share.
There is one public performance of the play on Saturday the 29th November at 7pm in the church. There is no charge for admission, but donations will be channelled into the outreach work of the Parish, including purchase of resources to support St Nicholas Church Youth Group activities.
The performers will be supported on the night by members of the Clergy, Town Councillors, and Parochial Church Council.
