Welcome to St Nicholas'

St Nicholas’ is the Parish Church of Arundel. It's home to a warm, friendly and faithful Christian community in the orthodox anglo-catholic tradition of the Church of England. Nourished by word and sacrament, we seek to be faithful disciples of Christ, living and proclaiming his gospel in our daily lives.

You will find details of our regular services on our Worship page.

Built in 1380 on the site of an earlier church, St Nicholas’ is a popular destination for the many visitors to the historic town of Arundel. Please see below for opening times.

Whether you are coming to St Nicholas’ to soak up its atmosphere and find a place of solace and prayer, to view its historic architecture, or to join us in worship, we pray that in this sacred place you will be truly touched by the abundant grace, mercy and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Visiting St Nicholas'

Opening times: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm (12.00 to 4.30 on Sunday). Please note that occasionally entry to the church is restricted due to a service or other event.

There is a descent of three steps inside the church. Unfortunately, there is no independent access for wheelchair users. However, step-free access is available when the Parish Office is open (usually Tuesday to Friday 9.30 am to 2.30 pm). To use this access, please turn right at the main entrance and take the path alongside the church. Knock on the door at the end of the path. If someone is in the office they will open the door for you. Please note that the path alongside the church can be slippery in wet weather. Alternatively, you are welcome to contact the Parish Office to arrange your visit. If we know when you are visiting we will do our best to ensure step-free access for you.
