Children & Youth
Sunday Group
Sunday Group is an activity based group for primary school aged children that meets during the 10.00 am service during the school term time. It is led by volunteers, primarily parents.
The children leave church during the first hymn to take part in fun craft activities based on stories from the bible. They return to church during Holy Communion. Following the service they share what they have been doing with the congregation, much to everyone's delight.
On the first Sunday of the month there is a 'Family Mass' in which the children assist in much of the liturgy, reading, leading the prayers and serving etc.
For further information about joining Sunday Group please contact the parish office or speak to one of the welcomers on duty. Please note that all children wishing to attend Sunday Group must have a signed consent form (available from the Sunday group leader on the day) from a parent or guardian.
Youth Group
St Nicholas' Youth Group, for youngsters in Year 7 and above, meets about once a month. The sessions are faith based and full of variety – from learning about the history of the church, visiting the bell tower, creating art, bat watching, discussing our faith and including visits from the clergy. Please contact the parish office which can put you in touch with the group's leader for more information.
Creche Area
St Nicholas' has a creche area for young children and their families. The area contains and old sea chest full of soft toys and books to occupy little ones during the service. Baby changing facilities are available.
